La Galleria dell’Orologio, spazio espositivo di arte contemporanea di recente apertura, è sita in via degli Orsini 32 davanti all’omonima piazza.
Si trova all’interno del palazzo seicentesco Capponi — Pediconi, dove sulla facciata principale si aprono due portali distanziati l’uno dall’altro, scelta dell’architetto per l’entrata e l’uscita delle carrozze. Entrambi sono modellati in stucco dalle ridondanti modanature che terminano a voluta in un arco a tutto sesto con maschera di giovane e racemi floreali nel centro. Il portale di destra, non più in uso per le carrozze, è l’entrata della Galleria, l’interno è disposto su tre livelli una parte ricavata dalle ristrutturazioni delle antiche cantine del palazzo.
La Galleria dell’Orologio nasce nel cuore del centro storico tra restauratori e antiquari e trova il suo intento nell’accrescere, potenziare e valorizzare ogni forma di arte contemporanea, pittura, scultura, fotografia e tutti i settori della creatività delle arti visive volgendo particolare attenzione ai giovani artisti e già emergenti.
